This is pathetic. Doug Kmiec, I remember when you came to my office at the Justice Department — where at the time I was serving as associate deputy attorney general under Attorney General Ed Meese — seeking an appointment. I remember processing your papers and sending them to the White House for political clearance. I remember advocating for your appointment to a deputy assistant attorney general post in the Office of Legal Counsel and securing your appointment. And from there, Doug, you became the acting assistant attorney general for the Office of Legal Counsel in the last days of the Reagan administration. You have now used your resume to give cover to perhaps the most radical and unqualified person to be nominated for president. And your arguments on Obama's behalf have been nothing short of dishonest. I am extremely disappointed in you. But my guess is you've earned a judgeship should Obama win the presidency. Frankly, sometimes you think you know somebody when, in fact, you don't.

I wonder if Kmiec is having difficulty mastering the art of shaving without looking in the mirror?
Why? It seems that he's put his conscience in the same morgue locker as his integrity.
As a former student of Kmiec's at the time of the 9/11 attacks, his position and probably personal motivations saddens me greatly. I do think he would be great on the Supreme Court. After the congressional blocking of Janice Brown for her conservatism, it became patently obvious that Kmiec would definitely suffer the same fate. I think Kmiec is a friend to Catholics. I do not support Obama in any way shape or form, but hope that perhaps Kmiec will be nominated. Nominated by a Obama, he might have a chance for confirmation. The means to the ends, though, are very problematic.

I would oppose his nomination to the Court because he's a liar and a sell-out - not mention, based on his statements over the last few months, he's "pro-choice".
Well, regardless, I don't think he'd even be considered for SCOTUS by an Obama administration. He's useful in an election contest, but he's not "one of them" enough to get a court appointment.
