More Dem Platform News: Party to Officially Oppose Defense of Marriage Act

Brian Burch has the latest on the anti-family Dem platform at Fidelis:

In addition to affirming their unequivocal support of abortion rights and taxpayer funded abortion, the new proposed Democratic platform language also expressly opposes the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act. The law is the greatest obstacle to nationwide same-sex marriage. Presumably if Obama is elected, it will go. The new language reads:
We oppose the Defense of Marriage Act and all attempts to use this issue to divide us.
(emphasis added)

One wonders whether Prof. Kmiec had a hand in this portion of the platform as well. If not, rest assured that, in his ongoing effort to baptize any and everything The One does, he'll nevertheless soon be making apologies for this plank as the "true pro-family position".
