Tall Ship Niagara Coming to Sandusky Bay

Today and tomorrow:
A replica of the U.S. Brig Niagara will arrive in Sandusky at 3 p.m., July 6.

Public tours of the tall ship will be available 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at the Murray dock at the foot of Columbus Avenue.

Admission is $5 per person. Children age 5 and younger will be admitted free.

The Niagara, built in 1988, is a reconstruction of the warship aboard which Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry won the Battle of Lake Erie in 1813 during the War of 1812.

The ship is owned by the state of Pennsylvania and administered by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission.

It is also operated with the support and cooperation of the Flagship Niagara League.

National City Bank is sponsoring the ship’s trip to Sandusky.

I'm planning to take the boys either today or tomorrow or both. I'll post photos later.
