That's where we spent our family vacation a couple of weeks ago. Lot's of fun, huh?

It looks like you're having a great time with your family there, Jay. Thanks for sharing these photos with us.

Rick,

It was fun, but there's a pretty wild crowd there. Lots of drinking and partying at mid-day, so I can only imagine what it's like at night. Sarah and I are thinking we'd like to go back and spend a weekend there without the kids.

Did y'all attend Mass at Mother of Sorrows? That is one of the prettiest small parish churches I've ever seen.

I've heard it's pretty wild on the weekend with the bar crowd, even during the daylight hours. I've recently been told Kelley's island is nice too though and very family friendly.

Oh boy...you can try to imagine! ;)

I've been to Mother of Sorrows a number of times. It's a nice little church building. They have a new pastor as of two weeks ago so I don't know what he's like. But previously it was like one of those make-it-up-as-you-go type liturgies. Sorta like "hey guys, let's skip the penitential rite and have a Sign of Peace." And of course with it being a "vacation" type parish, no dress decorum is followed.

Anyway, as you can imagine it's not the most family friendly vacation spots, but I am fortunate enough to have access to some things that can allow for it. I'll write you later about that, the parish and the island in general.
