NOW He Gets Involved

Bishop Robert Lynch, of St. Petersburg, Florida, thought it not worth his effort to get involved in saving the life of Terri Schiavo.

Instead, this is Bishop Lynch's idea of a life worth his getting involved to save (from Catholic Caveman):
Ten bishops signed an open letter to the governor [of Florida] asking that he commute the death sentences of Arthur Rutherford and Danny Rolling.

The letter was signed by Bishops John Nevins, John Ricard, Robert Lynch
[emphasis added], Victor Galeone, Gerald Barbarito and Thomas Wenski; Coadjutor Bishop Frank Dewane, Auxiliary Bishop Felipe Estevez and Auxiliary Bishop John G. Noonan.

***
Danny Rolling (better known as "The Gainsville Ripper") killed and mutilated five women. Rolling enjoyed displaying the mutilated bodies in such a fashion as to gain maximum shock effect, such as on his first victim, he had separated her head and nipples from her body and had positioned them next to her on the bed.
I'm going to give Bishop Lynch's actions the most charitable reading I can provide: perhaps he now realizes his mistake at not playing a more proactive role in saving the life of Terri Schiavo and has now decided to speak out on matters of import to the Church's teachings.

It would, for example, be uncharitable of me to assume that Bishop Lynch is now speaking out against things like the death penalty, the Iraq War, immigration reform, not to mention liturgical reform, (after he had remained so silent about the euthanizing of Terri Schiavo) out of some political motivation.

Pope Benedict has a grave obligation before God to remove this Judas from office before he captures more souls for the Evil One.

And Pope John Paul II will have a lot to answer for on the Last Day when he is questioned about all his gravely negligent episcopal appointments.

He wasn't just silent in the face of evil.

He let the crimenal Michael Schiavo remarry in a Catholic Church after the murder went down.

His actions speak loud and clear that he is not on the side of the angels, but the other side.

By all means then, Billy, don't waste your time griping about it here, go forth and issue your fraternal correction directly to the prelate in question.

Looks like the chancery has its collective panties in a twist.

Schismatics, huh? Based on what? The fact that I think your bishop fell down on the job when it came to Terri Schiavo?

By the way, I also oppose the death penalty, although on prudential grounds. The difference between me and your bishop is that I also oppose starving people to death.
