Our family just got back a couple of days ago from a 2-week trip visiting relatives in South Carolina and Virginia. Below are some recommendations based on activities we did during our travels (some of which we had never done before and some of which we had done previously):
Huntington Beach State Park near Murrells Inlet, South Carolina
Early evening pontooning on the Waccamaw River in Conway, South Carolina
Tubing and/or canoing on the James River near Scottsville, Virginia
Jamestown Settlement in Jamestown, Virginia (I've previously blogged about visiting Jamestown here)
Buying books from the bargain tables (there's one for kids books and one for adult - not THAT sort of "adult" - books) at the Colonial Williamsburg Visitors Center bookstore
Dining at Christiana Campbell's Tavern, followed by "Gambols" at Chowning's Tavern in Williamsburg, Virginia
The Virginia Living Museum in Newport News, VirginiaLabels: Families, Food, History, The Old Dominion, Travel and Leisure
