College Football Saturday - Week 2: What I Learned Today...

  • ... that I was correct in making the assessment last week that, this time next year, Lloyd Carr will be working the broadcast booth for the Big 10 Network;

  • ... that Mike Hart is no longer a legitimate Heisman Trophy candidate;

  • ... that Chad Henne never was;

  • ... that regardless of Charlie Weiss' reticence about using the phrase, this is MOST DEFINITELY a "rebuilding year" at Notre Dame;

  • ... that Charlie Weiss is NOT an offensive genius - Brady Quinn just made him look like one;

  • ... that on his worst day, Tyrone Willingham (of whom I was not a fan, but who has the University of Washington off to a 2-0 start) didn't put as anemic-looking an offense out on the field as what Charlie Weiss put out there today - PATHETIC;

  • ... that I wish Urban Meyer were in South Bend rather than Gainesville;

  • ... that next week either Michigan or Notre Dame will get their first win of the season ... in Week 3;

  • ... that Ohio State's defense is solid - if the Buckeyes' offense catches up this year or next year, watch out;

  • ... that Ohio State needs to learn how to hold onto the football - 5 turnovers? Against Akron?

    You should add:

    ...that no team that I like has to come within 5 miles of the LSU Tigers, much less Death Valley.

    Geaux Tigers! ;)

    And then I'll add:

    "... that Michael must pin all his hopes for 2007 on the professional team in Baton Rouge since the one down in New Orleans just doesn't quite measure up."

    P.S. I hope you enjoyed T.O.'s 2 touchdown catches last night.

    ;-)
