Dreher Pulls an Algore
October 28, 1994: In Virginia, Al Gore attacks Oliver North's Senate bid supporters as "the extreme right wing, the extra chromosome right wing." Advocates for those with Down's Syndrome, caused by an extra chromosome, were outraged.
March 4, 2009: At Crunchy Con, Rod Dreher attacks the great unwashed using almost identical imagery when he asks "... since when do conservatives look down on sophistication itself? Since Joe the Plumber became the Whittaker Chambers of the Mongoloid* Right?"
