Catholic Left Reveal Themselves Again: They Claim FOCA No Big Deal and Just "Bogeyman" of Certain "Right-Wing" Bishops and Ideologues
So, not only do the Catholic left claim FOCA to be of no particular importance, in doing so, they seem more concerned about being tainted by association with those Bishops and conservative pro-lifers who are speaking out against FOCA and other anti-life policy priorities of Obama and the Democrats than they do about the anti-life policy priorities of Obama and the Democrats.
Opinionated Catholic has the details here and here.

I have my honest doubts that the either you or the blogger you linked to even read the analysis of the Freedom of Choice Act offered. I tend to think that people like you have constructed it into a "bogeyman," because there is absolutely zero chance that the bill ever makes it to a President Obama's desk, much less it being the first thing he is able to do as President. If you actually read the article from Commonwealth, he clearly states that he is in opposition to the Freedom of Choice Act. His point is that it makes absolutely no sense to put all of your focus on an issue that Congress has no intention of passing.
I agree with you that the Freedom of Choice Act is a bad piece of legislation. I agree that it will be a bad thing if it is passed. There is no reason to believe that it will be passed, however. I think people always forget that Obama's willingness to support this bill means nothing if Congress fails to pass it, which is almost certainly what will happen. Even if it did pass, it is even more unlikely that the Supreme Court would uphold the law.
In the end, you guys are sweating over nothing. The Freedom of Choice Act is not going to be law.
And I doubt John McCain was really going to "Bomb, bomb, bomb. Bomb, bomb Iran", but it didn't stop the Catholic left from playing up that quote at every opportunity.
The difference, of course, is that McCain was only joking about bombing Iran; whereas Obama was deadly serious about FOCA being a priority for his administration.
"...In the end, you guys are sweating over nothing. The Freedom of Choice Act is not going to be law."
FOCA is but one reason to 'sweat' concerning the Obama administration. He very much supported the bill and has said so--what are you reading?
FOCA or not, there are plenty of other Obamian plans to sweat about. And speaking of the Bogeyman--he was recently voted into the office of the Presidency.
