Gov. Sarah Palin: "To Serve the Common Good"

Has anyone else noticed Gov. Palin's use of the phrase "to serve the common good" in her introduction speech in Dayton when she was announced as Sen. McCain's running mate, in her convention speech last week in St. Paul, and in her comments at various campaign stops and rallies since then?

I find that choice of words ... interesting. I like it and hope that she continues to use that phrase - all the moreso because when Gov. Palin refers to "the common good" she's not doing so as a ploy to distract attention away from the abortion issue.

And on that subject, Cardinal George recently wrote:
Laws that place unborn children outside the protection of law destroy both the children killed and the common good, which is the controlling principle of Catholic social teaching. One cannot favor the legal status quo on abortion and also be working for the common good.
