From Creative Minority Report:
Sarah Palin:"We have been blessed with five wonderful children who we love with all our heart and mean everything to us. Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned. We're proud of Bristol's decision to have her baby and even prouder to become grandparents. As Bristol faces the responsibilities of adulthood, she knows she has our unconditional love and support.
"Bristol and the young man she will marry are going to realize very quickly the difficulties of raising a child, which is why they will have the love and support of our entire family. We ask the media to respect our daughter and Levi's privacy as has always been the tradition of children of candidates.
Barack Obama:I've got two daughters. 9 years old and 6 years old. I am going to teach them first of all about values and morals. But if they make a mistake, I don't want them punished with a baby.

We can only guess what 'values and morals' he has in mind for them--we certainly know what he has in mind for us.

I am sick to my stomach at what CNN is doing to these people.
I don't know how journalists sleep at night.
It is scandalous to bring up the pregnancy, but everyone's proud of the pregnancy. Needless to say, the latter is one of those little lies we tell ourselves. The former is closer to the truth.
As for Obama's statement and as I noted at the time, it was reflective of the predominant view of the matter. Only in recent times have pro-lifers decided that it was wrong to be upset about a pregnancy occuring outside marriage.
Of course many Democrats are shocked by the pregnancy. What, no quick trip to the abortion clinic to avoid scandal, when the Mom of the pregnant girl is a governor? The Party of Abortion views abortion as a positive good. Many Democrat activists simply have no understanding of people like the Palins who view an out of wedlock birth as far preferable to a quick abortion.
Only in recent times have pro-lifers decided that it was wrong to be upset about a pregnancy occuring outside marriage.
And this is bad why?
Only in recent times has "Pro-choice" been considered, much less promoted, as a legitimate position by ANYONE of ANY worldview!
Which change is more enlightened?
