Deal Hudson: "More Obama Catholics on the Internet"

A new web site has appeared, 10,000CatholicsforObama. Obama will need over 15,000,000 Catholic voters to win in November, so he has long way to go.
What's important to notice about the web site is that Obama is already on the defensive.
In a section called "Fight the Smears," there is list including infanticide, the "Abortion President," "abortion extremism," and Jeremiah Wright.
The list will surely get longer as the campaign wears on.
It also talks about "after years of gridlock and wedge politics."
Let me translate, "After years of debate over abortion and, now, gay marriage, let's just throw those issues overboard and move on to things we agree about."

Catholic members of the O-Cult are making a critical mistake. Every time they try to sell Obama to Catholics under a Catholic mantle, it merely gives non-supporters an opportunity to point out those areas where Obama is glaringly in opposition to the Magisterium. I wonder who they are really trying to convince: undecided Catholics or themselves?

Well, I'm not sure if anyone is familiar with what Facebook.com is (though I won't assume), but a significant number of Catholic youth have created groups for debate and discussion, one is entitled "Catholics United for Obama" and there philosophical reasoning is anything but sound in my view.
My appeal on the basis of Obama's voting record and vote in favor of infanticide was basically irrelevant.
The "O-Cult" is brainwashing young Catholics.
I wonder who they are really trying to convince: undecided Catholics or themselves?
Themselves, Donald. Themselves and each other.
