Barack Obama's Critics are "Racists"; Michelle Obama's Critics Will Burn in Hell

Creative Minority Report notes that Fr. Andrew Greeley believes anyone not voting for Barack Obama must be motivated by "racism":
... Certainly there are solid political and personal reasons that some Americans might have had for voting against the senator that would not be in principle racist. He is one of the most "liberal" members of Congress. He stole the election from a woman who was entitled to it. He is one of the "boys" beating up on the female candidate. He is a not a patriot dedicated to final victory in Iraq. He is weak on national security. He lacks experience. He supports abortion. Yet behind these arguments, might racism lurk?
Meanwhile, HotAir notes that Sen. Dick Durbin believes anyone who criticizes Michelle Obama's sometimes over-the-top campaign rhetoric will burn in hell.

Changing the tone.

Am I late on arrival to figure out that Fr. Greeley is a leftist loon? Or has just recently gone off the deepend of the philosophical pool in recent years?

I liked some of what he did a looong time ago, but I am amazed to his left turn from Catholicisim he has taken in these recent years.

I probably didn't notice until recently I take it.

He's been pretty edgy even on strictly Catholic matters for a long time. Seems like a book of his I read back in the 80s was calling for woman priests, married priests, and a "priest contract" with a five or ten year period so you could decide to opt out of your vocation and pursue another career after doing a few years of service.

Every time a loudmouth leftist like Greeley opens his mouth for the Obamessiah, another thousand or so fence-sitters decide for McCain. So thanks, Padre.

The same Greeley that wrote "Catholic Imagination?" Hmph.

Actually, married priests are not against Church doctrine. That's valid. I wouldn't be against married priests, though, I think how the Church would go about doing that if she chose to would have to be careful. But the rest of his assertions are a little out there.

"A little out there?" I'm on vacation forgive me (I'm less than 15 minutes from the Vatican). What I meant it "sheer heresy."

Greeley has always been a Democrat. I thought his novels were poorly written pot-boilers that verged on soft-core porn.
