Just going by what I know, I shocked Rep Ryan of Janesville made such a silly statement about Western Wisconsin. Yes, they are in the Minnesota T.V. market. However there are only a handful of voters there. 2/3's of Wisconsin's votes are in what's called the "Golden Triangle." It stretches from Madison to Green Bay and to Kenosha. As for Gov. Pawlenty being wildly popular, I don't know. I'm not familiar with any policy he is known. As for Wisconsin generally, the Republicans can't be playing to a draw in the Appleton-Green Bay area. If things go there like they do in the 2006 governor's race and Republicans actually lose votes, it won't matter what happens between Eau Claire and LaCrosse, not that any Republican was going to win La Crosse anytime soon.
