How Liberals "Support the Troops"
Liberal rhetoric: "We oppose the war, but support our troops."
Liberal reality: "Marines, get out!" - first Berkeley, and now Toledo.
Somehow, I don't think Mayor Finkbeiner's (yes, that's really the guy's name, and he's a REAL piece of work) inhospitality toward our servicemen (this reserve unit did a tour in Iraq last year) will play particularly well in swing-state Ohio.

I agree Carty is a piece of work, but before the comments start, you need to know that he's a few steps to the right of the average Toledo politician and the reasoning was nothing like the Berkeley incident. He's a bit of a control freak and the Marines don't seem to have asked permission. They notified the police, but it would have been a good idea to ask the City Council before having war games in the middle of a city. Unfortunately, since the Drudge Report ran the story, there's been a constant stream of commenters, who don't know the first thing about Toledo politics, spouting off without bothering to find out what actually happened.
