UPDATE on Grace Assumpta

This morning, I took the kids and their aunt (Sarah's sister is visiting to help out with the kids) to visit Sarah and Gracie in the hospital.

Okay, so Daddy's an idiot. In the rush to gather together all of Jamie's school stuff (he goes to pre-K in the afternoons) before we left for the hospital, I went and left the camera at home. So no photos of the kids meeting their new baby sister for the first time.

At least not yet. Luckily, my sister-in-law's cell phone has a camera in it, so she was able to get some shots. She'll upload them and send them to me tomorrow when she gets back home. I'll post them as soon as I have them.

In the meantime, here's some more photos of Grace Assumpta:

She cried a lot right after she was born, but hasn't been much of a crier since.

We were worried how Mary Virginia would react to not being THE baby anymore, although she's still a baby herself. Without any prompting whatsoever, she leaned over and kissed the baby. Mary Virginia really is a sweet child, and will be an excellent and very helpful big sister, even at only 14 months.

Don't feel too bad Jay, we all have those stupid Dad moments from time to time.

I remember when my Extraordinary Boy, then only 26 months old, went to the hospital to meet his newborn sister, the Beauty Girl, for the first time.

He was very interested at first in the new baby sister, but soon wanted to explore the hospital room. He quickly ducked into the restroom, and when I followed, I found him standing in front of the toilet, making the sign of the cross.

And no, his hand wasn't dry.
