Prayers for the Commonwealth of Virginia
I may no longer live in Virginia, but my roots are there, and I will always consider myself a citizen of the Commonwealth. And I may be a UVA grad, but I have always thought very highly of our in-state rival Hokies.
Words cannot express the horror I feel at what happened in Blacksburg today. My prayers for the murdered and wounded, as well as their families and friends.

This just makes me sick to my stomach. I received my BS in '92 and MS in '97 from Tech. My siter-in-law lived on that very floor in AJ 20 years ago. I walked through Norris to get my Genetics and History of WWII classes 16 years ago. I was just visiting my parents in Roanoke last week and went up to Blacksburg on Wednesday to buy a new T-shirt at the Bookstore and walked around campus... May the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace.
My mom was worrying this morning that we would find out that some of murdered students were children of families we knew in Blacksburg sixteen years.
It's so strange to think of such a dignified, beautiful campus being the location of such a bloodbath.
(And you remember right: my dad is a Hokie!)
