Dedication of Grotto to St. Katharine Drexel

This event happened a couple of months ago, but I was just informed that The Catholic Virginian recently ran a photo and a small blurb about the December dedication of a grotto to St. Katharine Drexel at my former parish in Columbia, Virginia:

Grotto dedicated

Bishop Emeritus Walter F. Sullivan blesses the new grotto featuring a statue of St. Katharine Drexel with two children at St. Joseph’s/Shrine of St. Katharine Drexel in Columbia Dec. 17. Mother Katharine Drexel, who had been a member of a wealthy Philadelphia family, founded the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament and came to that part of Virginia near Columbia where she was instrumental in having Mass celebrated there for African Americans. With Bishop Sullivan are Sister Patricia Suchalski, president of the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament in Bensalem, Pa., and Father Alan Lipscomb, pastor.
St. Katharine Drexel's feast day - 3 March - is 2 weeks from this Saturday.
