Brownback: President Should Have Addressed Conservative Social Agenda in State of the Union

From Associated Press (via WISTV, Columbia, SC):
(AP) January 28, 2007 - Kansas Senator and presidential hopeful Sam Brownback says President Bush should have addressed a conservative social agenda in his State of the Union address.

But Brownback, appearing on "Fox News Sunday," says it will be hard for Republicans to gain ground on life, marriage and family issues with a Democratic Congress and that's probably "why he stayed away from it."

My Comments:
The State of the Union? Why limit his criticism to that?

Apart from a couple of solid Supreme Court picks and the ESCR veto (for which the President is to be commended), "should have addressed a conservative social agenda" pretty much sums up the entire Bush presidency.

Says Sen. Brownback: "... it will be hard for Republicans to gain ground on life, marriage and family issues with a Democratic Congress and that's probably 'why he stayed away from it.' "

What's his excuse for the previous 6 years?
