'Tis a shame. Instead of despairing of the state of the Church in America, he should have read his bible:
"Be watchful and strengthen the things that remain, which are ready to die." Rev 3:2

This is a development that should be heeded by the Church, as I too have contemplated the trek to Constantinople. But if the faithful leave (a contradiction anyway) Then Mahoney, Chittister, and Kissler have won.
