As Publius has pointed out on a number of occasions, another argument for pseudonymous blogging.

UPDATE
A clarification from Tim regarding why pseudonymous blogging wouldn't have helped in his case:
I didn't get fired because of what I blogged but for viewing blogs while at work. That's an important distinction there. It wouldn't have mattered if I blogged totally anonymously, you see what I mean?

Hey, thanks for the link and publicity.
But, for the record, I didn't get fired because of what I blogged but for viewing blogs while at work. That's an important distinction there.
It wouldn't have mattered if I blogged totally anonymously, you see what I mean?

Ut-oh, I may be in trouble, too bad this is my last day at this job, "you can't fire me! I quit!"

I will keep that in mind for my next employment endever.
