Sports Illustrated: Who's Got the Best Fight Song?
Gearing up for that best time of year (Fall, which means College Football), Sports Illustrated asks "Who's Got the Best Fight Song?". They also provide a "Top 5" list of their own, which, like everything else coming out of Sports Illustrated, is complete crap.
Apart from "Notre Dame Victory March" and "The Victors", the songs chosen by SI belong no where near a "Top 5" list, unless it's "Top 5 Crappiest College Fight Songs".
And even with the ones they got right, they got it all wrong. SI listed the "Notre Dame Victory March" as fifth. Come on. Even people who know absolutely nothing about college athletics can readily recognize the tune of Notre Dame's fight song. "The Victors", which SI rated first, is - in my opinion - a close second.
Speaking of college fight songs, you may recall this post from last year, which similarly sought input regarding best and worst fight songs.

SI Sucks!
"Cheer, cheer for old Notre Dame..."
Hmmm, doesn't SI have anything better to be doing with their publication. Like maybe asking "Who's got the hottest cheerleaders?"
They have No. 1 right, but I agree about Notre Dame's fight song. It's a somewhat close second (it was our high school song).
I definitely think there needs to be a "Who has the hottest cheerleaders?" issue. My money is on Ole Miss.
SI wouldn't suck if "Who's got the hottest cheerleaders" were featured.
USC would win the cheerleaders contest, especially with those sweaters they wear. "Less is more..."
Texas would come in second.
Terry sure has some insight into these matters.
One squad here has more guy cheerleaders than girls. I was disgusted and shocked until I saw which school it was. Then it all made sense. ;)
The Victors (Michigan) is definitely #1, but I'll give you that Notre Dame should be a close second.
