San Fran Mayor Nixes Rome Trip Over Church Policy Against Homosexual Adoptions

San Francisco Mayor (and allegedly "practicing" Catholic) Gavin Newsom will forego attending Archbishop William Levada's installation as Cardinal in Rome as a protest over the Catholic Church's opposition to adoptions by homosexuals. The San Francisco Sentinel (which apparently doesn't allow excerpting of its stories) has the details.
