Refs Hand Steelers "One for the Thumb"

Steelers - 21, Seahawks - 10, Zebras - a big fat ZERO

Not a fan of either team. But certainly NOT a fan of the team wearing black and white. One of the worst refereed games in Super Bowl history.

Nevertheless, congrats to the Steelers for joining my Dallas Cowboys and that other team from the left coast in adding a 5th Super Bowl ring "for the thumb".

We're feeling the pain up here in the Pacific NW. Trying not to be a sore loser. I feel that this game was taken from us by the refs.

As someone with no horse in the race, and whose wife is a big Pittsburgh fan, I can honestly say you have a right to feel the way you do. A phantom offensive interference call that robbed your team of a touchdown; a 3rd and goal touchdown call when Pitt's QB was clearly stopped short of the goalline; a personal foul call on Seattle's QB for a "block below the waist" when he was clearly making a tackle on an interception return; phantom holding calls that stopped Seattle drives, etc.

It was a poorly officiated game that Pittsburgh may still have won, but the refs clearly paved the way for them.

Pittsburgh became a whole new team in the second half, and for that reason I don't begrudge them the win. Nonetheless, I can't help but feel that the refs were making sure that the game went that way. I said at another blog that I've heard that AFC merch sells more than NFC. I think it was in the NFL's best interest to engineer a Pittsburgh win. I'm not typically a "conspiracy theory" kind of guy... but this stuff was so obvious.
